Location: Onsite
Experience Level: 7+ Years
About the Role
We’re looking for a Senior QA Engineer with deep experience in testing game mechanics and gamified
experiences to help ensure our mobile and web platforms deliver seamless, bug-free fun.
This is not your typical QA role—we’re building behavior-driven experiences, real-time reward logic, and
delightful game loops. You will own the quality narrative for our games, loyalty systems, and user-facing
experiences. If you’ve tested mobile games, incentive platforms, or highly interactive applications before,
this is your playground.
Key Responsibilities
● Own QA strategy for all Playfully Rewards features involving point systems, games, spins,
challenges, and tiers
● Define, implement, and maintain test cases for gamified user journeys, loyalty rewards, and
real-time feedback loops
● Work alongside developers, designers, and product managers to ensure pixel-perfect UI/UX and
smooth gameplay logic
● Conduct manual exploratory testing for edge cases and gameplay variability
● Build or maintain automated UI & API tests using frameworks like Cypress, Playwright, Appium,
or Detox
● Collaborate with mobile and backend teams to create test plans for event-driven architecture
and API reliability
● Monitor releases using tools like Crashlytics, TestRail, Sentry, or similar
● Assist in A/B testing validation, ensuring variants function correctly and don’t impact platform
stability
● Test across devices, platforms (iOS/Android/Web), screen sizes, and network conditions
● Identify regressions early and help create post-mortem reports for critical bugs
Must-Have Qualifications
● 7+ years of QA experience, with at least 3 years in game or gamified app testing
● Expertise in mobile game QA, reward systems, interactive animations, and behavioral triggers
● Strong grasp of QA methodologies (manual + automated) and bug life cycle
● Experience with tools like Jira, TestRail, Postman, Charles Proxy, and Firebase
● Familiarity with mobile gestures, state-based UI flows, and error state handling
● Ability to design test plans that account for randomness, repeatability, and edge cases
● Passion for improving product quality, not just identifying bugs
● Strong communicator and team player, with attention to detail and curiosity to explore
Nice-to-Haves
● Experience with testing spin-to-win, challenge-based, or point-earning mechanics
● Exposure to analytics testing, including events validation (Amplitude, Mixpanel, GA)
● Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, test coverage metrics, and test automation frameworks
● Knowledge of security testing for rewards (fraud prevention, multiple redemption edge cases)
● Prior experience in startups or agile product teams where iteration speed is high
What Success Looks Like (First 3–6 Months)
● QA coverage across 100% of user-facing reward features
● Zero crashes or critical bugs in released game flows
● Reduction in production regressions and faster turnaround in test validation
● Tight feedback loop with development and design for continuous quality improvement
